FURNISHING THE FIRST FLOOR OF A COLONIAL HOME

As graduates of Northwestern University, my clients love all shades of the color purple, which was incorporated through wall coverings and fabrics. Several important family heirlooms were gracefully included in the design, including a sculptural sofa and an antique mirror, which was creatively mounted in the bathroom.

“‘We used every shade of purple throughout the entire first floor,’ Holly Joe says. In the living room, Joe kept the existing wall color and grounded the space with a neutral wool rug that sports a raised geometric chain-link design.”
